Mid-Year Check 1, 2, 1, 2 — Are You Still Tuned In to You?
Six months.
That’s how far into 2025 we are.
Halfway through the year. Halfway through the goals. The intentions. The trying. The surviving.
And maybe—if we’re honest—the forgetting.
This is your mic check.
A moment to pause, breathe, and ask:
Am I still tuned in to the version of me I imagined at the start of the year?
Not the version that performs and produces.
Not the one pushing through burnout or smiling when it hurts.
But the version that whispered:
“This year, I want to feel better.”
“This year, I want to take care of myself—for real.”
“This year, I want more peace, more clarity, more intention.”
A Mid-Year Mental Health Check-In
As Black therapists in Chicago, we see it all the time: people who had big intentions in January but feel off course by June. And it's not their fault. Life doesn't slow down for our healing. That's why checking in with your mental health mid-year is so necessary.
The Drift Is Subtle, But It’s Real
It doesn’t always take a breakdown to pull you off track.
Sometimes it’s constant busyness, expectations, and emotional fatigue.
When you're juggling work, relationships, caregiving, and the weight of the world, your own well-being can quietly take a back seat.
And before you know it, you’re surviving, not living.
This Isn’t About Shame—It’s About Returning
This is not about judgment.
This is your invitation to realign.
To ask:
What do I want the rest of this year to feel like?
What do I need to return to myself—emotionally, mentally, and spiritually?
You still have time. You’re still allowed to begin again.
5 Soul-Centered Questions for Realignment
Take a few minutes. Be honest with yourself:
What version of me has been showing up lately?
Where am I moving on autopilot—and what needs more intention?
What emotions or needs have I been avoiding?
What did I hope 2025 would feel like—and how does today compare?
What’s one small, loving step I can take to reconnect with myself this week?
This isn’t about fixing everything.
It’s about choosing yourself again—one step at a time.
